STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics)

Written on: September 13th, 2011 by: patty.langley in Blog Posts

September is Back-to-School time and the DE Division of Libraries has 2 new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) resources for the youngest student to the adult learner.

DDL and DE Public Libraries are partnering with the Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation with their program “Things That Move” at every DE public library. You and your child will build a structure with moving gears, assemble and test a model vehicle, build and experiment with magnetic gears, and make and take your own climbing creature or tumble wing glider. This program meets the following DE State Science Standards: #1 Nature and Application of Science and Technology and #3 Energy and Its Effects. The complete schedule can be found at: http://guides.lib.de.us/stem

A new LibGuide with resources in the area of STEM content for all ages has been added to the growing list of Hot Topics. Here you will find everything from science experiments, math help, career advice and the latest research. The STEM LibGuide can be found here: http://guides.lib.de.us/stem
